Izzy Riley

I’m studying an MSc in Conservation Science & Policy at the University of Exeter, Penryn Campus, and my interests are broad-ranging. I particularly enjoy learning about interactions between wildlife and humans, and how conservation interventions can work on both sides, especially in a marine context.

My MSc thesis, supervised by Dr. Luis Huckstadt, will involve using drones to collect data on the state of grey seal populations in Cornwall. This will include looking at body condition, population levels and haul-out behaviour.

I’m from Northern Ireland, and did my undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. I love living in Cornwall, and spend my free time surfing, running and hiking.
